LISTEN & LYRICS | Towa Bird – A Party

By  |

The much-awaited debut album from Towa Bird is here, and it is perfection from start to finish.  Here are the lyrics to the last track ‘A Party’.

On June 28, the 25-year-old guitarist released her debut studio album, American Hero, through Interscope Records.

Softer than the more rock-leaning other tracks, “A Party” closes out the 13-track effort.

WHO WROTE ‘A PARTY’ BY TOWA BIRD?

Bird co-wrote “A Party” with Luna Shadows and Thomas Powers, who also produced the track and the rest of the album.

TOWA BIRD – “A PARTY” LYRICS

Whiskey sours after hours
She pours out flattery
I don’t give any back
I just keep it all for me

Alex got so wasted
He made us take his keys
Now we can go around the city
Get anywhere for free

Your eyes glued to mine
And they keep me hanging
Read between the lines
Of your body language
Stayed awake till 5
On a different planet
Can you read my mind
Or my body language?

I know I’m not the one
But I know you needed someone

She says she likes guitar
Now we’re standing in the streets
Laughing at the flashy cars
And drunk celebrities

Jackie said “keep drinking”
With blushing rosy cheeks
At best, we might get sad
At worst, we’ll fall asleep

Your eyes glued to mine
And they keep me hanging
Read between the lines
Of your body language
Stayed awake till 5
On a different planet
Can you read my mind
Or my body language?

No, I’m not the one
But I know you needed someone.
